Hiii, I’m Ariel. But most folks call me Air.
I’m a strategist, storyteller, and creative partner based in Kalamazoo, MI who loves helping people make sense of what they’re building — then shape it into something they’re ready to share with the world.
The cheerleader behind the work.
My Approach
I start by listening.
Most people come to me with pieces of something: a project they are trying to explain, a program they want to build, a website that no longer fits, a few notes, or a feeling that something is there but still needs work.
I ask questions, listen for the thread, and help turn scattered ideas into something that makes sense and still feels like them.
From there, we look at the big picture and the details: the people involved, the systems around it, the message, the audience, the timing, and what actually needs to happen next.
I work best when there is room for collaboration. You do not need everything figured out before we start. I actually like the early part, where we begin to name what something could become.
What Matters to Me
I have always cared about work that feels honest, useful, and connected to the people it’s meant to reach.
Before I had words like strategy, storytelling, or communications, I noticed when something felt true. I paid attention to the way people tried to explain what mattered to them, especially when the words were hard to find.
My background spans recovery, behavioral health, public policy, higher education, nonprofit leadership, and social impact work. Across those spaces, I’ve seen how much the right language can do. It can help people understand an idea, trust a process, join a movement, fund a project, or see themselves in the work.
That belief shapes how I approach every project. I want the final product to look good, but I also want it to mean something. I want it to sound like you, connect with the people you care about, and make it easier for them to understand why your work matters.
Why Dear Jude
Dear Jude is named after my son, Jude.
When I became his mom, a lot of things got clearer for me.
I started thinking more deeply about the kind of life I wanted to build, the kind of work I wanted to do, and the kind of legacy I wanted him to see.
This work is part of that. Dear Jude is where I bring together the things I naturally love: helping people make sense of their ideas, tell their stories, create things that are both beautiful and useful, and move their work forward with more confidence.
For me, it all comes back to care.
Care in the words. Care in the design. Care in how people feel when they finally see their idea become something real.
